Reece James suffers hamstring injury days after signing new deal

Chelsea have been dealt a major setback with club captain Reece James suffering a hamstring injury.

The Athletic confirmed that James is set to miss several weeks with this new injury.

Chelsea recently announced that club captain, James, had signed a new deal, extending his stay at his boyhood club until 2032.

While scans have not yet confirmed the full extent, the fact that The Athletic have a rough timeline already is worrying.

James has started 5 of the last 6 games under Liam Rosenior. There are no confirmed reports that the new Head Coach has mis-managed him.

However, news of James’s hamstring injury does pose questions over the influx of hamstring injuries in the squad since Rosenior took over.

Marc Cucurella, Estevao and Jamie Gittens have all suffered hamstring issues in recent weeks.
