Makes some good saves and distribution is better than what we used to.
Gusto – 3
Looks well off the Pace this game and not for the first time, unfortunately. Newcastle are using that side to expose us and all their threat has come down due to Gusto’s poor awareness.
Fofana – 2.5
Probably the worst player on the pitch going into halftime. Caused the Caicedo booking and stupidly got booked with his lack of defensive awareness.
Chalobah – 4.5
Probably the best of out the 2 CB’s, but still looked very shaky and slow to move the ball forward
Cucurella – 6
Pretty much had his side covered for most the game. Passing was a bit slow though in starting attacks.
James – 6.5
Contract extension secured and thank god we have more of Reece to come over the years. For this game specifically, not as best performance but still looks more energetic then anyone else
Caicedo – 5.5
Extremely sloppy and his passing and tackling seems to be a bit more rash. Hate to admit it, but we are seeing a bit of decline in form…
Palmer – 4.5
Had 2 good chances to take the lead and to equalise during the game. Some of his turns and first touches are still first class but his general play down the right is so predictable.
Enzo- 3
Couldn’t tell you a thing that he did apart from being out muscled by that robust Newcastle midfield. Not his greatest performance to be honest.
Garnacho – 4
A bit better compared to usual but that Newcastle low block is limiting his best attributes
Joao Pedro- 3.5
Looks well off the pace and hopefully this is just an off game
Rosenior:
Correct decision to completely drop Jorgensen out of the squad after his horrifying performance in Paris. No real surprises within the starting 11 and given whats available in attack.

Delap: 5.5
Looked slightly better compared to usual, made 2 good runs and forced a routine save from ramsdale. Seemed to suit the physicality better this game.
