Chelsea striker Liam Delap is a potential summer target for Newcastle United, according to Ben Jacobs.

Delap, 20, has struggled ever since joining from Ipswich Town last summer, scoring just one league goal in the premier league this season.

He missed a significant spell on the sidelines after sustaining a dislocated shoulder against Bournemouth in December, but has still found form hard come by in recent months.

Jacobs reports that Newcastle United are a potential destination for Delap, with Magpies boss Eddie Howe reportedly a big fan.

Newcastle tried to sign Delap last summer, but he chose Chelsea over them and others.

Chelsea may be able to get their money back if they do decide to sell, considering the fee paid was only £30m.
