Player ratings: Chelsea disgracefully exit Champions League after another PSG battering

As expected, Chelsea crash out of the champions league after a humbling brutal defeat by current European champions PSG.

FA Cup and champions league football is all to play for, for the blues.

A lot of questions need answering from the manager and players… and of course clearlake.

Sanchez – 6

Couldn’t really do anything about the goals conceded. Distribution wasn’t too bad at times and made a good save from Barcola to keep tonights result respectable.

Chalobah – 3

Looks completely lost within the middle of defence. Supposed to lead from the back but did anything but that…

Sarr – 1

At fault for the first goal by not adjusting his feet and misjudging the flight of the long ball.

Extremely mistimed in his tackling and aerial duels and was getting absolutely exposed every-time PSG. Rightfully hooked at HT.

Hato

Cucurella – 3

Asked to play the so called ‘marcos alonso’ role within the team but seemed to struggle to offer any width as it was predictable from PSG’s point of view where any outlet or threat was coming from us.

Caicedo – 3.5

We have praised him enough, but when criticism arises, it’s justified.

Probably the worst we have seen Caicedo play since the Pochettino days. Sloppy passing and tackling isn’t up to scratch.

This Rosenior system is really not getting the best out of Caicedo

Santos – 3

Looks incredibly rusty after being benched by Rosenior past couple of games. Hasn’t really offered that robustness that he normally offers and was getting bullied at times .

Palmer – 2.5

Some creativity and chances were coming through him but really and truly it’s PSG taking the foot off the gas.

Enzo – 2

Looked extremely out of sorts once again, losing a lot of second balls in the middle of the park and couldn’t handle the PSG press.

Neto – 2

Didn’t offer anything out wide , very predictable in his next move as a winger. Seems to be regressing game by game and even his defensive work rate is poor

Joao Pedro- 6.5

Probably the only one who seems to have any sort of of mojo and urgency about him. Unlucky to not draw a penalty in the first half.

Rosenior: 0

Overall over 2 legs of the tie, he has been firmly responsible for the decisions in starting xi and setting us up to be very open and playing right into PSG’s hands. Clearly hasn’t learnt from his mistakes.

Subs:

Achaempong: 5

Dealt relatively well with PSG’s threat second half but foot was taken off the gas.

Delap: 5.5

Did ok coming on, had a couple of shots which forced good saves from the keeper.

Garnacho: N/A

Lavia: N/A

Tosin: N/A
